Hotel Belmar

The Hotel Belmar is owned and operated by the Belmar family. It is a beautiful mountain hotel, consisting of two Austrian Chalet style buildings, the newer main building with 14 rooms, restaurant and reception and the Chalet building with 14 rooms, all with private bath, hot water, balcony and an impressive view of the Gulf of Nicoya. Note: Standard rooms without television.

Nestled in the mountains of Monteverde you will find the Hotel Belmar just 300 m north of the gas station. We offer spectacular views and personalized service in a comfortable rustic atmosphere combined with the beauty of the surrounding landscape. All this is just moments away from the wilderness of an immense tropical rain forest, internationally known as one of the world's premiere wildlife sanctuaries. Be sure to bring your binoculars as there are over 400 species of birds in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve.

In appreciation of Costa Rica's natural heritage, meals are homemade (bread, granola, marmalade) with ingredients produced within the country, most locally (dairy products, coffee, fruits, and vegetables). Our decoration features works of Costa Rican artists, handcrafters, and photographers.

Hotel Belmar is situated within minutes from many local attractions including the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and the Santa Elena Reserva. We have an own private trail with secondary forest or for the good hiker there is a public trail passing the hotel to the top of Cerro Amigos, the highest point in the area, at 1840 meters, over 5500 feet.

The "Chalet" has internet access in the living room, but no wireless in the bedrooms.
You can put internet access in hotel rooms and wireless internet in the main building.
