Horse Trek Monteverde

General Information  

You can enjoy horseback ridings in the hole area of Monteverde, and in this way enjoy view points, sunsets, waterfalls and beautiful trails through the cloud forest. Many of these tours take 2 hours but there are also one day tours.

Most of these tours are designed for all riding skills. In Monteverde we offer tours through natural trails where you can find the best panoramic views of canyons and the incredible Nicoya Gulf; occasionally, you can also see monkeys, sloths and exotic birds. 

San Luis Waterfall Tour

Combine the adventure of a magnificent horseback riding with an adventurous hiking.This tour offers great views of the Nicoya Gulf and primery forest. There is a great possibility to spot exotic birds, tropical plants and wildlife. The ride to the San Luis Waterfall is one of the most scenic nature activities, the adventurous horseback riding and the pleasant hike in the jungle of San Luis Valley leads you to the impressive 300 m, drop off waterfall. Enjoy fresh fruits and refresh in the sparkling waters of the natural pools.

This tour takes about 5.5 hours (3.5 hours on the horseback) and departs from La Colina Lodge anytime between 7:30 am and 11:30 am.

Rate: $52.00 per person plus $10 entrance fee the the waterfall.

Arenal Tour (or vice versa) 

Take an unique one-way tour and turn a travelling day into an adventure. We use a wellmaintained trail safe in all seasons. You will spend 3 hours riding alongside the Arenal lake, enjoying the spectacular scenery, views of the volcano and the different species of flora and fauna. The trip is suitable for all levels of riding experience and is 5.5 hours in total (3 hours on horseback)

This Horseback ride includes:

• Children´s saddles and helmets available

If you have a rental car don´t worry! We can provide a driver for your car for the price of $40 while you go the fun way. (Monteverde to La Fortuna only).
