Sister cities, sisterhood with Estes Park, Colorado USA
At the end of February, a delegation of the Municipal District Council of Monteverde and a group of managers headed by the major Marcony Suaréz and the president of the Tourism Chamber Eduardo Venegas, visited ESTES PARK in Colorado, United States with the objective of making a sisterhood with the municipality of that zone.
Estes Park is a community of 5000 habitants, it is located in the entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park holding 3 million of tourists per year, and as well as Monteverde the tourism is the main activity.
The agreement of Sisterhood was re-signed in Monteverde, at the end of March with the visit of the delegation of Estes Park, headed by its major John Baudek, in a formal dinning in La Cascada.
The agreement contemplates a mutual cooperation in exchange programs of education, arts, culture, health, tourism, environment and municipal development.
